Sunday Letter ~ September 13

A few things on my mind this week:

25th anniversary of September 11th. I spent a lot of time watching interviews and listening to stories from this event 25 years ago, and it really affected my week. My algorithm is now almost completely 9/11 stuff - to the point where I need to stop watching, ha.

It's difficult trying to process the enormity of something so horrific while my own days are filled with such small, ordinary things - packing lunches, designing holiday cards and managing my team. There is something almost uncomfortable about the contrast, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

As a mother (and almost 40-year-old), my feelings about that day are so much deeper and more complex than they were as a little pre-teen watching the news on our TV after school in London that day. The leadership, bravery and heroism from that day are just incredible to look back on and absolutely inspiring.

On a lighter note — here is everything else on my mind!!

1. What to do with the sloped ceilings and dormer windows in my girls' bedroom. Pinterest inspo below!

2. New Coffee Accessories: My coffee journey is kind of ridiculous, but as of recently I am super happy with my morning routine! I usually add some vanilla extract to the milk in my frother!!

3. Holiday card feature: The Hawthorne Collection

I love this message and design — it's pretty, thoughtful and unique! If it were me and I didn't have a photo yet and also didn't want to stress too hard, I would pick white paper letterpress with a shade of green and plan for an outdoor photo. Any green from your photo will make the ink pop, and it truly doesn't matter what you are wearing in the picture because the green from the grass or the trees will be the link. The safest bet is picking something with a square photo because you can usually crop any picture to a square!

4. Football cups! Football season is upon us and our (dare I say chic?!) football cups make a great hostess gift — or stock your own bar with personalized cups for entertaining!
